FATBIKE RACE:

All the fatbikers on St. Nick’s NICE LIST will enjoy the fun and flowy prairie loop course for 3 hours. Those adventurous souls who are on the NAUGHTY LIST will brave the cold for a grueling 6 hours. Riders who want to work together as a group can do the REINDEER TEAM OPTION: teams of 2 or more will send out one rider on course, at a time, while the other team members stay warm and cozy by the fire. Racers will compete to complete as many laps around the approximately 1.5-mile racecourse as possible before time runs out.

date & time

December 7, 2024 from 10am to 4pm Central Time.

Packet Pick Up will be 8:30-9:30am Saturday morning at the Kent Pelton Nature Park Trail. Please scroll down and check the schedule of events below for more info!

location

The 2024 race will start & finish at The Kent Pelton Nature Park, in the Watford City, ND under a special use permit with the Watford City Parks & Rec. Racer HQ will be located at the main BIG pavilion next to the pond. See Racecourse Map below.

RACECOURSE

All fatbikers will enjoy a very fun 1.5-mile lap course. Racers will access the Nature Park Trail from the sidewalk along the pavilion, ride the groomed Nature Trail for about 1.3-miles of twisty-turny, flowy prairie groomed trail, then exit the trail and take the sidewalk a short way back to the pavilion, and repeat. See the RACECOURSE MAP for more details.

Why Plan B?

The weather has been cold. The snow on the 2-mile Loop at CCC has been groomed. The improvements at the campground look AMAZING… And we want to help keep it that way. Unfortunately the weather is not going to cooperate. Friday and Saturday are going to be very sunny and warm causing soft and muddy conditions that could damage the trail and the work that’s been done to CCC.

LODGING

Make your hotel reservations for the night before & after the race at the Roosevelt Inn & Suites, in Watford City, ND. A warm cozy bed, hot tub, sauna, big breakfast and strong coffee are waiting for you. Accommodations can be booked here.
